Thank you to the many who responded to my inquiry as to whether it is too late to seed parsnips. This is a great forum for collective knowledge sharing!!
A number folks asked to hear what the consensus was so here is a summary:
Basically most said there is still time left especially for those who do a late harvest or let them last until following spring to dig then. Those who have done mid-June say it is too late, but now is fine. The key is keeping them well watered through the entire germination period and even put remay on them to warm up the soil and push them along.
I think my main problem was that for some reason I was sent pelleted parsnip (which I did not order) and I understand that pelleted parsnip are particularly sensitive to drying out.
