I stopped by the Muddy Brook marsh on route 116 in South Burlington this afternoon. This is the spot where Ali Wagner found a Least Bittern in May. No bittern today, but I did get a good look at a Black-billed Cuckoo perched on a bare branch on the south side of the marsh. The bird posed for a minute or so before returning to its reclusive ways. I've seen cuckoos here in the past for not for a few years. Productive spot.
