I heard a Scarlet Tanager singing and coming closer and closer to the house.
I put down my magazine. Next, the song came from the willow. Then, aha!
The beautiful flash of red swooped out of the willow just as a male Eastern
Bluebird swooped across and behind it and up into the willow. Who needs 4th
of July fireworks, anyway?
