As Eric Hynes pointed out there is lots of good shorebird habitat along the Lake just waiting for the great shorebird migration to occur. This afternoon I observed Killdeer (8), Least Sandpiper (4), Spotted Sandpiper (1), and Semipalmated Sandpiper (2) at the very extensive beach at Delta Park exposed by the dry weather. Last week a pair of Greater Yellowlegs stopped by until they were run off by the ubiquitous wind surfers casting off from the beach.
Looking forward to one of the better shorebird seasons in recent memory in Vermont.
