I saw my very first Giant Swallowtail last week, and had another visitation yesterday. Assuming it is the same one, it just loves my burgundy coloured Monarda, along with a Great Spangled Fritillary, Hummingbird Moths, Silver Spotted Skippers and hundreds of bees of all sizes. Extremely hard to get a good pic of the GS as it never sits still! I have entered my sighting on the BAMONA site.
Catbirds & young in the blueberries constantly, Indigo Buntings & chipmunks also, we are fighting to get some for ourselves! Young YB Sapsuckers active all around. Wood Thrush sings early & late, and a Loon calls as it moves north every morning from Fern to Dunmore. Four bats entering another attic yesterday morning too. Crow family extending their range away from the garden and the baby voices are beginning to mature, thank goodness! Shelagh near Fern Lake.
