Full report to follow but wanted to put this out there. Along trail sw of
parking area in the Brilyea access area, along the causeway that crosses
the marsh the 2nd time, on left, I saw what I am fairly certain was a juv.
Yellow Crowned Night Heron, darker back with white spots, fine along wing,
dark bill, fine darker streaks along the breast - flushed as I slowly
walked by a small pool and landed in tree. Great looks, and would duck
behind a branch if i lifted my camera. Not sure if this is a usual bird for
here or not as I am new here.
