Hello Vermont eBirders ....

The annual taxonomic updating of eBird is now underway.  As always there 
are some changes that surprise eBird users.

Perhaps the most commonly disconcerting thing is when the order of birds 
is rearranged.  Well, there is some of that this year.  For example, in 
the list of species, Falcons (e.g. Kestrel) are now placed between 
Woodpeckers and Flycatchers ... that's a long way from Hawks!   Hawks, 
by the way, are between Herons and Rails.  So it goes with linear lists.
