Hi all, I'm one of the three to have been present for the original
sighting of the mystery oporornis. I'd just like to point out that any
"obvious" field marks that one would expect to notice in the field
should not be discredited, since the three of us did not have our
binoculars with us at the time, and it wasn't until Justin carefully
studied the photos after getting home that he noticed it was most
definitely not a nashville. In the field, we simply saw a yellow bird,
with gray head and noticeable white eye ring, and without a close up
view, and only getting quick glimpses through the brush, we passed it
off as nashville.
