An exodus of great egrets from a nearby marsh along with great blue herons was a lovely sight this morning. All were going north.
Of interest and frustration was a "tickticktick" call from the cattail marsh. It call ed for about 30 seconds or so and would not reveal
itself. I tried hitting two stones together but no response.
