Following up on Ian's posting just now, I was watching the Willet from
about 8 - 9 AM this morning.
Jim Osborn was watching very close by when I first arrived, and while I
was there three others also got to see it.
Jim feels that the bird seen here is not the same as the Delta Park bird
seen earlier, as Ian mentioned.
Bob Dill managed to get a good long series of photos, so am looking
forward to seeing those.
It stayed in the area of the shore of the big rock, on both eastern and
northern sides, at the end of the boat access parking area.
It flew once very briefly along the rock. but otherwise was quite mellow.
Twice it hunkered down as low as it could go to the ground as first one,
and then later two Merlin's, appeared overhead.
Not sure if the increasing southerly winds and chance of rain this
afternoon will keep it in place again today?; and then tomorrow
northerly winds return.
For now it seems to be quite happy here,
