This morning at 10 am I made a dump run to the Moretown Landfill. It
was a busy place, but in the dust and din I noticed TV's streaming in
from over the hillside. The steady flow of birds numbered 52 at my
last count, all of which appeared to ride a thermal up near/over the
methane flame! Who knew?! I did, of course, have my binoculars handy
(it IS a 'birder's car' after all) and scanned the birds for a
possible Black Vulture, with no luck.
Upon my arrival home in beautiful downtown Moretown, there were two
Merlins circling over the house. One was VERY noisy, presumably a
hungry juvenile.
So many birds, so little time (another favorite bumper sticker)
Enjoy!
