Hi,
Well, we may not have seen a Bittern in Williston yesterday, but seeing two
immature Black-crowned Night Herons was pretty good. One flew to a tree to
perch and we realized there was a second one already there, partially hidden
behind foliage. The second bird was dozing off!
Has anyone seen the Least Bittern(s) lately at the Muddy Brook pull off?
It hasn't been reported there since July 9th. Early in the a.m. seems to be
the best time to find it.

I have an American Bittern sitting at pond's edge this morning - what a
great way to start the day! Ali Wagner and I were looking for one at
Muddy Brook yesterday, no luck. Hope he decides to stay for a few days.
Happy birding
