Got out to Dead Creek IBA today in between showers and found some good
birds. FOS Greater Yellowlegs, Solitary Sandpiper, Red-necked Phalarope and
Black-bellied Plover, amongst the Killdeer, Semipalmated Plovers and Least
and Spotted Sandpipers. A Juvenile Bald Eagle flew over a few times a 2
Yellow-billed Cuckoos called from opposites sides of the creek.
The Shelburne boat launch held a few least Sandpipers
and Semipalmated Plovers, several Killdeer, 2 Great Egrets, 2 Green-winged
Teal, several and Common Mergansers, all easily visible from the boat
launch area.
