careful traffic mostly considerate but it only takes one!

Comments: Observations made from five locations around the marsh.
Emergent vegetation, mainly water lily pads, breaking up with cold. Water more
open.
24 species
Wood Duck 144 Probably a 10% under count done individually with
scope. Water lily pads breaking up impeded viewing. High but not a record for
this area at this time of year! [09/02/1999 : 227 wood duck]. Many counts
above 100.

Osprey 1
Red-necked Phalarope 1 Feeding among the wood duck. Digiscoped for
the record. About 80 m distant.
