At 5:30 tonight two flocks of shore birds, wheeling and dipping
together,landed on the mud flats on the south side of the mouth of the
Winooski River in front of the abandoned duck blind; each flock had from
22-28 birds. I went down to "Charlie's Boat House" to get closer as I
didn't have a scope, and found actively feeding Semipalmated Plovers. Some
had flown to the north shore of the river in the park area; most were still
