Windows 8, like Windows 7, uses a Key Management Server (KMS) for
activation. We added support for Windows 8 and Server 2012 to our
campus KMS a few months back, and added support for Office 2013 a few
weeks ago. Your VM should activate automatically, as long as it is
connected to the campus network. As always, you likely will have better
luck using a bridged virtual network connection than a NATed address.
