Thanks for the feedback on the -(non)-cackling geese. I wonder what they
are, however, as they are clearly not what we see here as typical Canada
Geese. They have much shorter necks, are somewhat smaller, and as a group
they stayed together , for the most part. Would they be Lesser Canada Geese?
On the other hand,a lot of my books describe Cackling Geese as having a
great deal of variety within the species as well, and that they can be
nearly indistinguishable from Lesser Canadas. - pretty confusing.
While the bills on these geese aren't really "stubby", the porportion to
head length on an enlargement is shorter than the average Canada.
Is there a Cackling/Canada hybrid?
