Between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. the Common Pochard was observed several times by several observers from the "bridge" area. The bird was off the point to the northeast just beyond the water/ice confluence. The last this observer saw of the bird was when it mingled with the large group of mallard in that area.
Light conditions were good with full but low sun. There was little to no heat shimmer distorting the image. The distance was "somewhat distant" but satisfactory with ~50X scope image.
Nice to see at least half a dozen out of state license plates mingled with those from Vermont, not forgetting the object of the quest itself!
