No Pochards or Tufted Ducks, but a nice variety of birds in Brattleboro and
Vernon. The day started with a Hoary Redpoll in with a flock of about 70
C.Redpolls visiting our feeders and birch tree on Bonnyvale Rd, W. Bratt.
We've had flocks of C. Redpolls ranging from 40 to ~200 since Christmas Day
which I've been scrutinizing for a Hoary without success, until today. In
Vernon, around noon, there was one Lapland Longspur and one Snow Bunting in
with a flock of ~40 Horned Larks feeding on the manure piles at the end of
Blodgett Rd. Back in Brattleboro, two Pine Grosbeaks were feeding on
ornamental crab apples next to the TD Bank on Harris Place around 2PM.
