Subject: Seattle Tournament CA Announcement and Reg Reminders
Greetings everyone,
With just eight days left to register for the Seattle University tournament, I wanted to take this opportunity for a couple of exciting announcements and friendly reminders.
1. I am thrilled to announce that James Kilcup, of Loyloa Marmount University, will be the CA of our tournament. James served as a DCA at the 2013 World Universities Debate Championship in Berlin as well as being a two time finalist at the Cambridge IV, a finalist at Yale in 2009, and broke 7th at Cork Worlds in 2009.
2. As of right now we have 10 schools committed from all over the country and a deep and experienced judging pool ensuring that every room has quality judging panels. Every single room will have a multi judge panel and will feature a chair who has at least broken at a national championship or has the coaching experience equivalent.
3. Registration is due February 11th to me via email ([log in to unmask]). Please make sure to get your entries to me by then. You can adjust your entry later, but I need an accurate head count so that we have the right amount of rooms and food for the tournament. In your entry please include school name, debater’s names, judges’ names, judges experience, and any dietary restrictions I should know about when ordering food. If we get the numbers we would love to have a novice final as well, so please let me know if any of your teams should be designated as novice. (Novice designation is reserved for those competitors who are in their first year of any type of collegiate debate and have not broken to an open final this year).
I have attached a copy of our invitation, but please don’t hesitate to reach out to me should you need any further information.
We are so excited to see you.
Sincerely,
Sophia Sanders
