This afternoon I went for a walk binocs in hand in North Bennington .
Enjoying the usual birds, Cardinals, Titmice etc I looked up and
saw a large dark bird gliding east to west. First thought: not a crow, or a raven, could it be the local
Red-tail ? It was not. When I looked through the binocs, this was an Eagle. I tried to make it a Juv. Bald, but
could not: Head was too small, no white at arm pits, wings not plank like and tucked in where they joined the body.
Then, when it circled downrange (still with out flapping) it held
it's wings in a slight dihedral. No Teeter, not a Turkey Vulture. Therefore I am left with Golden Eagle.
Wish I had a camera with a zoom to confirm .
