With the advent of the recent cold snap, the very limited amount of open water at Lake Bomoseen, Hubbardton, was frozen solid. Sucker Brook to the north is one source of water that enters the lake from the north. Yesterday, Thursday, in the fast flowing waters of the Sucker Brook some 3 meters wide and at most a meter deep were 3 Mallard and 3 American Black Duck along with a single male Ring-necked Duck paddling frantically to refrain from being swept down stream.
I assume it must have been Hobson's choice for the Ring-necked Duck to land itself in that situation!
