I stopped at Button Bay this afternoon (in the snow). A large flock of Canada Geese and a moderate number of Mallards and Black Ducks were feeding in the corn field across the street from the entrance to Button Bay State Park. I quickly found the two Snow Geese and the two Greater White-fronted Geese. Unfortunately, the whole flock spooked a few minutes later and settled in well back from the road in the same field.

Another highlight of the day were two bright white Snow Geese among 150+ Canada
Geese at Button Bay. No sign of the Greater White-fronted Geese, unfortunately.
I traveled down Turkey Lane but was unsure of where it's ok to park (or if it
is), and what access there is (or isn't) to the lake, so I moved on. One thing
of note: throughout the day (8:30 - 2 pm), I didn't see a single Gull in the
air, nor anywhere, except for a small cluster on the ice at Ft. Cassin Rd.
Wonder where they all went?
