Dwight Cargill & I were at Button Bay around 10:30 a.m. and again in the
early to mid afternoon yesterday (Sat.). We did not see any Greater
White-fronted Geese. We were joined by Don Clark while there (in the
morning) and he told us that at 7:30 yesterday morning he did in fact see 2
Greater White-fronted Geese at Button Bay. Dwight, Don & I did see a Turkey
Vulture heading north while there. It was flying over the fields on the
east side of Button Bay Rd.
The 3 of us then headed to Potash Bay where we found Ted Murin. He had been
there a while and got us onto a very nice drake Tufted Duck which was
feeding very close to the ice edge. He also pointed out a Glaucous Gull.
Dwight & I also searched for the Slaty-backed Gull but had no luck in
