I was at Delta Park in Colchester this morning from 5:45 am to 8:10 and saw or heard 46 species. Some highlights - 10 warbling vireos, 3 Marsh Wrens, a Northern Waterthrush, 5 Great Egrets, a Magnolia Warbler, and a Raven on the river beach complaining loudly while being harassed by 10 Common Grackles. It finally gave up and flew way with the grackles in hot pursuit.

Two groups of shorebirds, one numbering 7 and the other at least 50, flew overhead and tested my identification skills. I failed. I could have used more time.
