An osprey throughout this morning called from several hundred feet above a
long abandoned nest site. A pair seemed to be on and off the nest
throughout this spring but they don't seem to have settled into the nest.
The calling has happened routinely earlier in the season but seems odd at
this time.
Also veerys seem to be especially abundant this year providing an extended
period of stereo surround sound. A proposed contribution to the lexicon-a
season of veeries.
