Monday, while taking mug shots of hummingbirds
to determine how many were guzzling down the syrup
so rapidly, I noticed one was banded. The same bird
was seen once Tuesday; but the band was not visible.
The banded individual was not found in photos today.
I'd been ignoring my one? pair of hummers for two months,
and have no idea how long the banded one was here.

At least 7 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds -- one an adult male.
A Field Sparrow is incubating 2 eggs in a nest 2 feet
above the ground in a tangle of bedstraw and yellow sweet clover.
