Interesting - Bob Yunick and Ted Hicks were banding at my house in Manchester on 7/7. They banded 24 birds, which I was a little disappointed by... My population has been a little funky this year due to having to reconfigure my feeders early in the season because of a bear - and of course also (I assume) because of the crazy weather! Additionally, we had a torrential downpour in the middle of the session and had to take cover for about 30 minutes. By the time they were able to resume, the prime morning feeding window was over. I was thinking the number was going to be closer to 50.
They are returning on Tuesday to band again - hopefully with much higher numbers - better weather, and many juveniles out of the nests.
Maybe you had one of my birds! I know they are also doing some sites in the Adirondacks as well.
