Greeting:

This evening (5:15 - dusk) I encountered some nice migrant activity in
a small wooded area across Rte. 15 from the CVS pharmacy in Essex.
There is a short rec path that passes through the woods (outlet on
Craftsbury Ct.) and most of the activity was concentrated in this
area. Another active area was along Willoughby Dr. just east of Old
Stage Rd. Highlights included:

1 Tennessee Warbler – brightly colored “1st winter”
1 Nashville Warbler
4 Yellow-rumped Warblers
2 Black-throated Green Warblers
1 Bay-breasted Warbler
1 American Redstart
3 Common Yellowthroats

Also:

1 Golden-crowned Kinglet
3 Ruby-crowned Kinglets
1 Catharus sp. (probably Hermit Thrush but poorly seen)
3 Scarlet Tanagers
1 Lincoln’s Sparrow

and others.

Good birding,

Scott
