This afternoon, from about 5:20 to around 6:00 PM, there were at least 
27 American Golden-plovers in the field to the west of Lake Road in 
Charlotte (across from the farm stand).  Also a similar number of 
killdeer and some turkeys in the meadow beyond.  The plovers showed a 
variety in terms of plumage, including a couple in what appeared to be 
full breeding plumage.
