First an apology for this late post. Three hours were spent yesterday
morning (0750-1050) checking out the pond and habitats surrounding and
including the pumpkin field. Total species: 29. Despite low waterfowl and
warbler diversity, this was compensated by a good showing of sparrows. Of
particular note is the Clay-colored Sparrow observed at reasonably close
range as it perched on lower branch of dead small tree (elm?) in riparian
brush not far from gazebo.
