Mona Bruley and I went to Chambly to look for the Ross's Gull. We did not see it even though we looked in all the usual places- sewage lagoons, marina, Fort Chambly and the rapids. Two women from NJ and two men from NY also did not see it although they were there in the early am and all the rest of the day. The river was searched far and wide and other places were searched - fields etc. we ran into a few other seekers but no one had seen the bird.
We heard the bird was in the marina yesterday and was spooked by a peregrine falcon. We did see the peregrine today. It was on some of the offshore rocks at the marina and was eating a gull, but we determined it was not the Ross's Gull.
Good luck to those of you who are going up tomorrow. May the force be with you.
