Pretty much all of the Texas Gulf coast is teriffic for birding,
especially for a Northeasterner. Just pick a spot and go. I found
Aransas an absolutely magical place, but there are many others. The
further south you go towards the Mexican border, the more likely you are
to see stuff that doesn't get to the rest of the U.S., but if you've
never been to Texas before, don't waste too much time driving to get
places, go somewhere closer and spend the time birding.
