Bitter north wind ushered in some nice surprises this afternoon at Kent Pond including two scoter species, Long-tailed Duck and Snow Buntings.

Comments: Sunny and clear but with bitter north wind.
Canada Goose 2 On one of the islands.
American Black Duck 5 Together in a raft with the Mallard.
Surf Scoter 1 With the raft of Black Scoter and as with the Long-tailed
duck it would tend to be on the verge or separate.
Black Scoter 20 Gathered in a single raft. Only two adult males clearly
visible the rest either females or juveniles.
Long-tailed Duck 2 One was with the raft of Black Scoter but tended to
remain apart. The second was drifting alone.
