I second that. I work at a very small specialty hospital that was built as a team from the ground up 11 years ago and i can't use enough superlatives to express how wonderful it has been for our patients and our employees. We were lucky to have had administrators who believed in that from day one. I've seen how nearly impossible it is to create that after the fact.
Have a great day!

"RNs also expressed concerns about poor communication among nurses, nursing assistants, doctors and hospital administrators, according to the survey. Forty-eight percent of respondents said they had wasted time due to lack of communication..."
I was trained to always leave a preliminary report in the patient's chart after a bedside exam as well as to try to contact the ordering physician. But I also always made every effort to inform the patient's nurse that the test had been performed, I had put a preliminary report in the chart and the essence of that report. I hope we all do. And my rapport with them paid dividends when I needed help to find a suitable chair to do my exam, removing and replacing dressings, and even one time bringing me a cup of coffee in the early morning hours.
