Hi Seedlings!
I am sure you can all agree that as the end of this year draws near,
work and other obligations are really starting to pile up! Hence, I
am here at almost 2 a.m. sending this e-mail!
Anyway, Kaylyn and I wanted to send out a call for 2-3 new
coordinators for SEEDS next year. It has been an incredible
experience for both of us and we encourage anyone, no matter your
level of involvement, to consider taking over the program. Neither
Kaylyn or I will be here next semester, therefore we are actively
searching for replacement coordinators. The sooner you reply, the
more time we will have to teach you everything you need to know to be
organized and efficient in making this program stay alive. If you and
a few friends want to coordinate, that is usually the most fun.
***The deadline to send us your interest in being a coordinator is
Sunday, April 20th.***
The responsibilities of a coordinator include recruiting new
volunteers, sending e-mails to the group, hosting bi-weekly meetings,
contacting schools, and then pairing students with schools to
volunteer. After you get UVM volunteers setup with schools, it is
usually a very hands-off process. You can be a coordinator and still
participate in other clubs in activities. Not to mention SEEDS is a
wonderful thing to list on a resume or discuss in an interview if you
are at all interest in the environment or environmental education.
Please do not hesitate to contact Kaylyn or I (she is CC'd here) if
you have any questions or hesitations about being a coordinator. We
would be happy to sit down with you and talk more.
Have a wonderful, warm weekend and we hope to hear from some of you soon!
Peas and sunshine,
Claire Wiggin
