Hello Vermont Birders:
Scott Morrical and I just had a female Lapland Longspur at Lagoon Road in
Hinesburg. Thank goodness it called (dry, staccato rattle) because it
wasn't in my search image when scanning the muddy field given the late
date. It is so well camouflaged in that habitat that I don't think I could
have spotted it if I didn't know it was there. It was working the east side
of the road, near the hay bales.
An American Pipit has been there for a couple of days and remains also.
