An after work walk today w/ my aging pooch turned up two Eastern Kingbirds
near the pond and a Merlin on the wing south of the off leash area over the
tall white pines. I've been hearing the Merlin for a week or so.
I also heard an Ovenbird singing this am in the woods behind our house.

The park has also had large numbers of Ruby-crowned Kinglets this last
week. Very vocal and often flashing the striking red crest.
