Hello Vermont Birders:
I made a midday visit to the flooded field off Sand Road in Ferrisburgh
today. It is well off to the west and immediately south of the intersection
with Grosse Point Road (north of Fort Cassin Road). If you go, I would
strongly suggest a spotting scope.
The shorebird concentration was impressive:
41 Lesser Yellowlegs
12 Greater Yellowlegs
1 Spotted Sandpiper
22 Least Sandpipers
9 Semipalmated Plovers
No sign of the previously reported Snowy Egret and Glossy Ibis.
A number of raptors were in the area. An immature Peregrine Falcon was
being most disruptive.
