We did our Birdathon Wednesday and Thursday on behalf of Otter Creek
Audubon's nature field trip scholarships for teachers. The star of the 24
hours was the CANADA WARBLER that popped up from a tangle of honeysuckle.
The bird was among Yellow-rumped Warblers in the town park at Twin Bridges
in Weybridge. Thanks to Ian Worley we heard a Cerulean Warbler in the
canopy behind Ian's house. Another important bird was the lone Bank
Swallow we found as we canoed Otter Creek upstream from the confluence of
Lemon Fair and Otter Creek.
A Bald Eagle was fishing on the Lemon Fair and lead us downstream for about
a half mile and an American Bittern exploded from in front of our canoe on
Beaver Creek.
Low numbers in total, but high quality.
