Hello Vermont Birders:
In addition to the two Common Nighthawks I had yesterday, I finally added
Eastern Whip-poor-will to my state list. Thank you Ian Worley!
Two birds were calling frequently from 8:45 - 9:30 p.m. on the west side of
Snake Mountain Road in the SW corner of Weybridge/NE corner of Bridport.
They were approximately half a mile north of the turn for Forrest Road.
No playback used/needed/advised -- just drive slowly with your windows down
and you can't miss them at dusk.
At one point an individual flew right to the road edge and sang really
close to us. Hear is a recording I made:
