A group of four Starksboro Birders had a productive morning at Cota Field
despite the absence of many regulars including the lack of any raptors.
Highlights included a pair of Baltimore Orioles breaking down an old nest,
at least five White-crowned Sparrows, many warblers including FOY Redstarts
and the first Green Heron any of us had seen in town. Our walk was part of
this weekends May Bird Count done by the Forest & Field club. I'll be out
birding the rest of the day and am eager to see how many species can be
found in Starksboro in one day. Checklist link below.
