Spencer Hardy and I birded from Middlebury to Lake Champlain yesterday
morning. Total of 83 species. Highlights included:
13 Warbler species Mostly at cemetery at Middlebury College and at
Whitney Creek; also at scattered locations:
Cape May Warbler (2 at cemetery at Middlebury College, where previously
Black-throated Green Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Also seen at/near Goose Cove, Bridport --
Orchard Oriole (adult male)
Common Tern (8)
Barrow's Goldeneye (male transitioning to adult plumage)
385 Scaup, nearly all being Lessers.
Many summer regulars reoccupying habitats.
