At 12:00 today I saw about 30 black scoters in the middle of the south-east lobe of mallets bay; a mix of males and females. The tight raft was about 1/2 way between the tip of Coates Island and the east end of E. Lakeshore Dr.
Closer to shore was a single common loon and, swimming north, a pair of horned grebes.
