Slightly late second-hand report - my friend (not a birder) saw and photographed a Snowy Owl yesterday afternoon on Oak Hill Road between Hinesburg and Williston. Sighting was between 4:30-5:30 p.m; owl was perched on a telephone pole. He describes the location as "2 or 3 poles south of Butternut road on the E. side of Oak Hill Road."

Photo quality is poor, but it's a close shot and pretty much no doubt it's a Snowy, especially since he described it as "a big white owl."I've put the photo in a Dropbox folder for viewing if anyone wants to confirm: http://bit.ly/1sVt5bT
