South Street extension beyond the hospital (Middlebury) makes a big sweep to the East and then South with several telephone poles next to the road. The owl was on one of the poles at 4pm today (Friday). It then flew south into an open field and landed on a turned furrow about 75 yards away. It was still there about a half hour later.
This is a spectacular bird ó immaculately white, not a single black marking I could see. Iíve seen a good number of snowy owls, but this one is the champ. Good luck,
