The Burlington circle CBC was held on Dec. 20. 61 participants reported 70 species and 15706 birds, including 3000 crows at a roost in South Burlington. The bird-of-the day was a White-eyed Vireo discovered by Liz Lackey at Oakledge Park. This bird was still present as of yesterday. Other notable findings included a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, a Red-shouldered Hawk, a Rusty Blackbird, and a Fish Crow seen during count week. Once again this year a new record was set for Red-bellied Woodpecker (21). A record number of Common Ravens (30) was seen, also. The owling teams reported a Barred Owl, a Saw-whet Owl, and several Eastern Screech Owls.

Most importantly, a good time was had by all.
