The process isn't difficult, just takes a bit of time. I've started branching out personally and doing some of the jobs for some of my consulting customers and others in the area on a small as I become more familiar with it.
I recently purchased this kit from iFixit: https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Parts/All-new-Pro-Tech-Toolkit/IF145-307-1
I brought it in for our Apple/I device person and now SVSU is purchasing kits for nearly every building, if not every building.
YouTube and iFixIt.com itself have videos on the breakdown and repair for many devices, and iFixIt.com also has parts you can purchase directly from them.
Additional good news is they take PO's as that is commonly something required by the business dept.

Subject: iPad Glass Repairs - Who?
Hi Listers -
Who do you send your out-of-warranty iPad glass repairs to, and how much do they charge? Hoping to keep business local if it's not a huge cost increase, so would prefer Franklin or Chittenden county.
But if you use a mail-in service, I'm not averse to that if it saves money.
