The discussion of where and if to extend the Vt Gas pipeline isn’t one for this forum - However, I just heard about a proposal to run part of the pipeline through Geprag’s Park in Hinesburg. As I understand (and I would love to find out I’m wrong!), the Town of Hinesburg and Vermont Gas reached an agreement last year to allow the pipeline to go through the park. However, there’s a covenant on the deed to the park that restricts usage of these lands except as "a public park or school or for public recreational or educational purposes", so Vermont Gas will seek eminent domain. There’s a Hinesburg Selectboard meeting tonight at 6:35PM as well as hearings with the Public Service Board in Montpelier the week of February 22nd. Maybe a delegation of concerned birders would be impressive!
