This afternoon there were 15 bald eagles perched in trees and on the ice of
Porter Bay, just NE of the Fort Cassin Rd. causeway. They were feeding on
a large dead carp. One of the mature eagles was banded with a silver band
on the right leg and a black band on the left leg. If you go, bring a
scope and you may be able to read the letters and numbers on the black band.
A flock of about 40 red-winged blackbirds were perched in trees and singing
loudly along Fort Cassin Rd.
